We run a timely and organized dress rehearsal. Your assistance with this process will guarantee a professional recital program. Please arrive 30 minutes prior to rehearsal times and find a seat in auditorium. Upon arrival please remain seated in auditorium throughout announcements. We prefer the Dancers to observe from the auditorium but must be in back stage area at least 4 numbers prior to stage time so the studio assistants may organize them for stage time. AT REHEARSAL ONLY Dancers will be called to the back stage area 3-4 numbers prior to their on stage performance. The dress rehearsal allows the students to become familiar with the auditorium surroundings, stage and to feel comfortable with their performance and costume (s). Possible lighting, music cues, set changes, blocking and all other logistics for an organized and professional performance are rehearsed so that everyone involved make the best impression. We request your patience with all dancers because some of the youngest performers may need to run dances more than once to insure they feel comfortable & know their marks on stage.

During announcements Parents or Guardians will be asked to bring dancers to the back stage area & leave dancers with the TIM Staff & assistants. Back stage space is limited so we ask that the dancers are left with us & you may return to your seat to enjoy their performance. Upon completion of rehearsal time on stage we ask the parents to return to back stage area to retrieve your dancer. This also gives the dancer an opportunity to enjoy the recital as well. Unless you are changing a dancer for their next performance parents are not needed in backstage area. There is a lot of activity backstage in a limited space. Please adhere to this rule! We ask that all parents & guardians rely on our expertise in handling the dancers backstage. Only dance teachers & class assistants are allowed backstage & in the wings of stage. This rule is a safety precaution for all of the performers! Those who wish to greet a performer after the show or rehearsal or to present flowers should do so in lobby area. After last rehearsal time the performers are free to leave.

DRESSING ROOM ETIQUETTE: Those students, parents & dancers NEEDING to utilize the dressing facilities are expected to respect others space & property in the dressing area. Please do your best to keep dressing areas organized and clean. It is a reflection of the dance school. Dressing areas are small but we have designated each dressing room for the classes. If dressing room is necessary please locate which room your child will need to change in. If your dancer is in more than one routine please use the designated dressing room for their class to change dancers clothes or hair then return to seat in auditorium. For everyones safety we recommend younger students use dressing rooms on stage level and older dancers use those on second floor. When necessary, only one person per dancer is allowed behind stage to assist them with costume or hair changes. No visitors are allowed backstage.

DRESS REHEARSAL GUESTS: Those attending dress rehearsal as audience members will be expected to remain quiet during students time on stage. Any disruption in the audience causes disruption on the stage as well. There are lots of dancers needing to practice so please keep noise to a minimum in audience. Dress rehearsal is the ONLY time personal non-flash photographs and videos are allowed. Due to the large number of cameras, no electrical outlets will be available so be sure your batteries are fully charged. No flash videotaping or flash photography is allowed at rehearsals or recitals. It is extremely distracting to other audience members and performers. You may however take photos during these stage rehearsals & recitals as long as flash is not utilized.

RECITALS:
All performers should arrive at auditorium at least 30 minutes before show time. Seating is on a first come first serve basis. If your dancer performs in the first four routines please bring them to back stage door @ show time. There will not be an emcee to insure the program runs smoothly so we appreciate your close attention to your program to bring children to the back stage area for their stage performance 4 numbers before their number.

RECITAL TICKETS: If attending all shows you will need tickets for each. All entering the auditorium for all shows will need a ticket, even the performer. If you need additional ones please contact Kenan Auditorium Box Office. NO TICKETS ARE available at the door for any show. For each recital program ticket stubs will be placed in the raffle box for the Free Year of Dance. Hold on to the ticket stub. The raffle is drawn at the finale of each show and you must be present to win. Performers name or any name you wish to win must be on the small portion of the ticket but it is not necessary.

THEATER ETIQUETTE: Please be courteous of fellow studio families. Only move throughout the auditorium in between routines and NOT while performers are rehearsing or performing. Out of respect for the dancers, entrances & exits throughout the shows should be done in between stage performances. Remove upset children immediately, conversation should be kept to a minimum, & Cell phones should be turned off or to vibrate. No flash photography but LOTS of Applause! Absolutely no flash photography or videotaping during recitals. The bright lights can temporarily blind performers and cause them to lose their concentration and or balance. If possible please remain until the finale of each recital. All performers have worked hard & deserve an audience.

AUDITORIUM RULES: NO eating, drinking, or smoking is allowed in auditorium. Each & every person requiring a seat at any point throughout recitals including performer MUST HAVE A TICKET!

RECITAL FINALE: At the completion of each recital program Perfect Attendance Trophies will be distributed. To receive Perfect Attendance recognition dancer must be enrolled prior to Jan 1 and must be participating in recital events for the class in which perfect attendance is earned in.

Other Special Presentations & The Free Year of Dance Winners will be announced. (Must be present to win). The Free Year of Dance tickets are provided as a stub free of charge on recital admission ticket.

We continue to be grateful for all the parental involvement and support of our dance programs. We extend our sincere THANKS to all of the students & families who have been a part of our studio family for the past 22 years!!!
