Studio Etiquette
Thank you so much to the TIM families that have helped us with the congestion in the hallway during classes. We appreciate you very much. However, the hallway is still challenging for the dancers, parents & teachers to navigate freely & get to classes on time & safely.
Mondays & Wednesdays we will be moving the benches out of the hallway to make more room. More days may be added in the future. We hope this will help the traffic flow more freely.
If anyone requires a seat due to a special circumstance, please see the receptionists & they will be happy to provide one.
The dance rooms are for dance classes, registered dancers & staff ONLY. For your children’s safety please do not allow your children of any age to enter the dance rooms.
Please respect the studio space by following to guidelines below
As we continue on with this dance season, a simple reminder that our lobby is small but our studios, as well as our hearts, are huge!
We are so incredibly grateful for everyone’s support of Techniques In Motion School of Dance! It is wonderful to see so many beautiful families inside the studio supporting the business & their dancers big & small!
As many of you have noticed, the observation hallway in the dance school gets very crowded & congested during the afternoon dance hours especially when there are several classes going in & coming out at the same time. The main time is Mondays & Wednesdays during the hours of 4pm & 630pm. Other days are congested as well so if everyone will do their part it will be much appreciated. You may notice the teachers & assistants making changes to the way the dancers enter & exit the classroom. It is our mission to make this transition as seamless & effective as possible.
We do, however, need to keep a pathway clear in the hall so the youngest dancers & their parents, teachers & assistants can confidently get them into their classrooms safely. While we are always happy to see you and answer any questions you may have about your dancer’s experience, your account, or anything else you may have queries about, we kindly ask that you keep in mind that our space is indeed set up to maximize the dance education of your youngsters while they are spending time in our facility.
Thus, we ask that if you must remain inside the facility for your or your dancer’s comfort, please be mindful that our priority is your child.
We love having you all at our dance studio, but we kindly request your assistance during class time. To ensure a focused and distraction-free environment for our dancers, we ask that only one adult per dancer stay for the classes and please help keep young siblings/friends from being a distraction to our dancers.
We need & appreciate your help & compliance to continue to provide a safe & efficient environment for families, dancers & staff.
Please help us to accomplish this by using any or all these suggestions:
- Keep in mind we have limited seating & hallway space
- NO food or Drink in the Observation Hallway. Please refer to posted signs.
- Limit strollers to the lobby area
- Using the free service, Spot TV, to observe your dancer’s classes remotely.
- Pick your older dancers up in the lobby or on the sidewalk outside the front door of the lobby after their classes are over.
- Only having one family member per dancer in the hallway at the time of their dancer’s class.
- Siblings on laps or benches or in the lobby & not in the middle of the observation hallway which creates a disturbed travel pattern & they may cause a trip hazard for others or cause harm to those children.
- No toys in the Observation area.
- If older dancers will wait in the lobby or down the hallway leading to the break area until after the younger dancers make it to the lobby that would help a lot! If the younger dancers will line up 5 minutes prior to their class times against the wall with the observation windows that will also help.
- Please take phone calls outside and use earbuds with devices. So, if you or your children need to eat, talk on phone, or an iPad/Tablet, please take it outside.
- If you choose to stay and watch class, please make the class the focus of your visit.
Helping us with things like this will assist us in getting dancers inside their classes on time & safely & instructors to get to their classes on time.
We have been experiencing ongoing problems with out-of-control noise from the family of our students and unsupervised siblings, food & drink staining carpet & shades being pushed against enough to cause them to fall. Obviously, we do not want to see anyone hurt! We may have to make additional changes to maintain a peaceful atmosphere for our students to study the beautiful art and discipline of dance.
We appreciate your understanding, continued support and cooperation in creating the best dance experience for our Rising Stars!
Ms. Terrie & TIM Staff
